Abir dreamed of stars not spells.

When an unexpected portal appears during the pioneering human time-travel experiment, sixteen-year-old Abir and four other teenagers are ripped from the 22nd century. Thrust into the unforgiving world of Magoron where corrupted magic turns rivers and lakes toxic at night, their survival depends on dormant powers, unknown to them.

A local mage guides them to Celestaveil, a village hidden from the dark forces called Kuforsa. But they discover its brutal rule: prove you have magic before the council's specified deadline, or face banishment into the wilderness with your memories wiped clean. While his companions unlock elemental magic, Abir remains powerless.

With time running out, Abir's only hope lies with the Whisperer, a mage who communicates in riddles. But his whereabouts are unknown to even the mages of Celestaveil

Abir must find the Whisperer and awaken his magic before his past and future are erased.
